To see or not to see..

To see or not to see your fiancé and complete a photo shoot before your wedding ceremony has well and truly sparked some controversy between my girlfriends and needless to say has arisen between many a latte and sav Blancs. With no real answer this topic has been discussed over and over as much as I have debarkled whether to choose the salmon or chicken at my favourite lunch spot- I hate order envy! But Sarah, my true romantic friend (who is still waiting for her prince charming and dozen red roses mind you) can't see how you could 'spoil' the moment. And, perhaps from a true old fashioned point of view myself I do agree. Yet with all the pressures on time frames, guest lists and dare I say money- the pre photo shoot  has become a practical and sensible option. Lets be honest- who wants 150 of your nearest and dearest drinking your champagne and eating your canapés without you...

So my solution (unless you do just bite it and do a pre photo shoot) is to choose a photographer who is more 'social journalistic'.  Modern photography is all about the 'un-posed'.. the spontaneous, and a 'fly on the wall' take of your day.  Treasure all the moments, the tears, the hilarious reaction to that speech, and everything inbetween, without the need for going away from your guests.  Here is a thought , It is not a photoshoot, it is your wedding day, enjoy it and you will find that there is no need for it to be any other way.
